Little Corey Gorey (1993)
Directed by Bill Morroni
Ah Tubi, the wild west of wacky horror and exploitation. Sometimes when I have no idea what to watch, I fire up the Tubi Machine and see what there is. I stumbled across Little Corey Gorey and the title was so lame that I had to watch it.
The movie is about Corey, this kid that is bullied and mistreated by his step family. Corey’s parents are both dead and he lives with his stepmom and stepbrother. He’s basically their slave and the stepmother tortures him if he doesn’t do exactly what she tells him. Finally Corey has had enough and he kills his stepbrother, ties his stepmom to the couch and has a runaway shack up with him. Now Corey has to keep killing to cover up his crimes. Then after the rocker chick shacks up with him, he’s told he owes a buttload of money to a drug dealer, because his brother stole coke from him. The plot I guess….is there? Who goes into a movie called Little Corey Gorey to see the plot though?
The acting is pretty much what you would expect. Todd Fortune (sounds like a WCW jobber from 1993) plays Corey, and he does a decent job for how low budget and forgotten this movie is. The stepmom is repulsive, overweight, bitchy, and just crude. She is played by Pat Gallagher. The special effects are decent for a low budget movie. We get lots of crude gore and even some cannibalism, played for laughs haha. I watched this soon after Ozzy Osbourne died, which is somewhat ironic because Corey is a big Ozzy fan. I’m not sure why it is called Little Corey Gorey, he’s easily 17 or so.
I’m not sure who I would recommend this to. It isn’t great, it is entertaining though. I had a decent time watching this, but at the end of the day it is forgotten for a reason. It is low budget shlock, but not bad enough to be remembered like Things or Troll 2. I give Little Corey Gorey a D.
