A group of honkies goes to New Guinea looking for a woman’s husband. Cannibal shenanigans happen! Much like the aforementioned cannibal movies in the intro, we get some real animal slaughtering, which is awesome right? No, no one likes that. It is disgusting to be honest. I’ve always loved animals, dogs and cats love me. I’m no vegan or vegetarian, I also love animals because they’re delicious, buuuut do we have to see someone gut a lizard? Anyway, rant over. There are a wide variety of animals show in this movie attacking people so revenge I guess. A cobra sneaks up on the group, a crocodile attacks a dude, and spiders. Also, a dude out wrestles python…yeah OK PAL.
The acting is ok, I guess for a lower budget Italian flick. Again it’s an Italian movie so shit is dubbed over. Ursula Andress is the main character and her thick accent is kind of funny sometimes. She’s ok I guess, the poster makes her look like a bombshell of a babe but she’s ok I guess, she’s no Caroline Munro. Stacy Keach is here, and he’s a dick like always so thats comforting. He also gets speared out of nowhere and that made me laugh out loud. Soon after they’re captured by the tribe and we get some gross out stuff that you’d expect with the genre.
The effects are ok by cannibal standards. The gore is on point for what you’d expect, guts, intestines etc. Fair mount of nudity in this, Ursula is topless a dcent amount and of course the native women have their boobs out. These cannibals seem less threatening than others you see in these movies. There is an odd scene towards the end when they have Susan (Ursula’s character) tied up and they rub some orange shit all over her making her the cannibal goddess. The natives begin fucking and touching themselves? At times this is borderline porn haha. One native woman is fingering herself and they show a close up, then cut to a native dude fucking a pig. WHAT AM I WATCHING?! A native tries to rape Susan and gets his dong cut off in close detail HOORAY! A little person cannibal gets knocked over and his brains are exposed that was gross.
I’ve seen better cannibal movies but this one is excessive at times. Even Cannibal Ferox cuts away after a second or so, this one just hangs right in there. The ending is rather rushed, they escape and float down the river on a log, run credits. This was kind of dull and gross at times. I give this a D. The gore is the only thing that saves it slightly.
