My Top 10 Favorite Godzilla Series Monsters (other than Godzilla)
I love Godzilla. I grew up watching the movies with my brother and they’re some of the fondest memories I have of my childhood. To this day we still talk about those movies and go to see the new ones together. There were so many great monsters in the movies that I decided to make a list of my ten favorites, enjoy!
- King Caesar: A character that everyone seems to hate. Yeah he’s a bitch, he takes forever to wake up then when he’s up he gets his ass handed to him by MechaGodzilla. A big lion/dog hybrid King Caesar just looks cool and I have always been fascinated with him for whatever reason.
- Megalon: A one off Godzilla foe, basically a giant cockroach with drills for hands. He’s goofy looking, sure but that’s what is great about him. Probably his biggest downfall is that he got beat up by Jet Fricking Jaguar.
- Mothra: I know, I know she’s super low, but man she’s overrated. It’s a giant moth that somehow always beats Godzilla. HOW?! Moths are so weak if you touch them their wings stop working. Blows my mind. Still she’s cool looking and classic so she has to make the list.
- Biollante: A fusion of flower and Godzilla. Sounds weird but Biollante looks so badass. It’s face is a mixture of Godzilla/Plant/Crocodile and with long vines it was able to hold down Godzilla and give him a run for his money.
- Gigan: A lot of people hate on Gigan, yeah, he’s stupid looking but he has some cool weapons. The big chest buzzsaw is cool and he has giant hooks for hands. Also, he can shoot a laser out of his eye. If that wasn’t enough Gigan can fly…through fucking space!
- Anguirus: Aka Godzilla’s bitch. Gotta love him, he’s always there to help and he always gets his ass kicked. He looks pretty cool with a shell of spikes on his back and horns on his head. He might be a wuss but he’s a good pal.
- Destoroyah: Man, he looks so bad ass. He looks like the devil, he’s massive and menacing. Loaded with weapons he was a formidable foe for the big G.
- King Ghidorah: A shiny gold three headed dragon that shoots lightning out of its mouth. What isn’t to love? Godzilla’s biggest enemy literally and figuratively, he’s been in like 5 or 6 movies. Gotta love him.
- Rodan: I’ve always thought Rodan looks really cool. Able to fly at like Mach 4 causing shockwaves when he passes by. Later installments gave him a heat ray breath which is pretty cool. The idea of a big Pteranodon being able to fly all over the world and destroy stuff is awesome.
- Mechagodzilla: He’s always been my favorite, he just looks so cool and menacing. His armor and weapons are ridiculous. Force fields, lasers, rockets, missiles, electric shock, he has everything. Also, he’s been in how many movies? Like four? Cmon!
